Wolstenholme Coot For Sale.

When I arrived at Beale Park Boat Show in June this year I found a group of men trying to rig this little Coot dinghy. I recognised the boat as belonging to Stuart Mann who I had been in contact with during his build.  As I explained to them where everything went I discovered that Stuart had died suddenly only a fortnight earlier.  Stuart had entered his boat in the WaterCraft Amateur Boat Building Awards and his friends from the boat club had rallied round and brought the boat down in his memory.

Stuart was posthumously awarded the prize for best Kit Built Boat.

I see that Stuart's Boat is advertised for sale in the latest edition of WaterCraft Magazine.

Asking Price, £3000.

Tel. 0121 308 2498 for details.

I've always wanted a Coot ever since I saw it in an early classic boat (early 1980's I guess). Could be the perfect Christmas present for someone with too many boats - oh well guess not!!!

It's a gem of a boat, I first read about it in Watercraft magazine, a lasting tribute to a fine craftsman.
Thank you for listing my simple blog in your bloglist, I hope to get some work done over the holiday break and post a few updated pics.

Kind regards, Denis H

Very beautiful. While I admit I get an adrenaline rush from sailing more modern boats such as the 14footer, I also sometimes wonder why we don't spend more time with pretty boats, and leave those modern monsters behind.
